About Win With Words
Win With Words is an application developed as part of an academic research project at The University of Aberdeen focused on understanding how people learn and develop through different styles of interactive dialogue. This study investigates how users perform and retain information when using either a structured Question-and-Answer format or a more open-ended conversational chat interface, particularly in the context of simulated job interviews.
Our research also explores the impact of timing and delivery of feedback—comparing the effectiveness of real-time, in-conversation feedback against feedback provided only at the end of an interaction. The goal is to uncover which approach better supports user learning, confidence, and performance.
Win With Words leverages advanced technologies from IBM Watsonx, including AI-powered dialogue management and Speech-to-Text transcription tools. These features enable natural, voice-based conversations while generating tailored feedback and model responses based on the users input. All interactions are anonymised and used solely for the purposes of this academic research.
Participants benefit from a unique opportunity to engage in realistic job interview practice with guided feedback, helping them improve their communication skills, build confidence, and better prepare for real-world scenarios.
This project is conducted in partnership with IBM and is supported by an academic institution. It adheres to strict ethical standards to ensure privacy, transparency, and data protection throughout the study.
We appreciate your interest in Win With Words and thank all participants for contributing to research that may shape the future of AI-driven education and career preparation tools.
